Banking´s digital transformation has provided Access to financial systems to a lot of people. At Banco General we promote this inclusion through our products and digital services.

In 2023, more than 555,600 different savings accounts were opened. For a significant number of clients, this account corresponded to their first banking product.

Yappy, the bank’s platform that allows its clients to send or request money with just a cell phone number and make payments to businesses, continues to grow in the country, with more than 1.4 million members by 2023.

By contributing to the “Estrategia Nacional de Educación Financiera” (National Campaign for Financial Education), we offer our support to the community.

In-person workshops

Participation in the financial education program of the Asociación Bancaria de Panamá (Panama Banking Association), teaching students from various schools around the country, as well as workshops for employees of different businesses and NGOs that are looking to further their knowledge about personal finance management. The workshops are provided by Banco General volunteers and touch on topics like savings, credit, budget management, among others.

Webinars

We offer webinars periodically for entrepreneurs related to business and finance management, as well as others related to the use of our products and digital services, complemented by tutorials.

Content Digital Platform

A digital platform, Mi Guía Financiera, with information that is both educational and of interest to people of all ages.

Podcast

A podcast named “Que no te lleve la corriente” in partnership with production company Longitud de Onda, which is composed of 5 24-35 minute episodes inspired by real life with factual information about banking and the history of money.

Superintendencia de Bancos

Support for the Estrategia Nacional de Educación Financiera (National Campaign for Financial Education) and its financial education platform Tu Balboa con Sentido, whose content we promote through our social media.
